    I am running Mac OSX 10.7.4 on MacBook Pro and I am a complete newbie when it comes to use source code tools.  Thus far I was able to install the dependencies per instructions.  However I’m stumped when comes to the nest step:  run /opt/local/bin/python2.5 pycam.  How do accomplish that ..with the terminal?   I cannot find /python2.5 pycam on my hard disk.  It’s not in the bin folder.  Thanks.

    Hi oldrayj,

    yes, this command needs to be run in a terminal.

    An alternative approach (probably easier for you) is to edit the "pycam" file and change the first line from

    1
    #!/usr/bin/env python

    to

    1
    #!/opt/local/bin/python2.5

    . Now you can execute the "pycam" script directly without a terminal.

    But if you should run into problems then you will probably want to start pycam from a terminal later. Here you get more verbose output that can help you diagnose potential problems.

    Good luck!
    Lars
