when is start it ,there is a popup-window showing following message "Failed to initialize the interactive 3D model view.
Please install 'python-gtkglext1' to enable it."
i can close the pop-up and the rest works .
because i am an absolut noob,i searched a lot of pages in google to find an installerfile for this python-gtkglext1,but it only seem to exist for ubuntu users.
before i installed pycam i read the requirements and followed the link to marco bonifazi with its all-in-one installers "gtk and pygtk" i also downloaded python2.6
1.installed python2.6 2.installed gtk 3.installed pygtk (and all whats in the installerfile) last i installed pycam0.3
everything is now installed with phython2.6
i also found the install-text and tried to follow the instructions.altthough i am shure i did not do it right.(i think it does not mean just to copy an paste some directories, when it says manually add files ) i managed it meanwhile to do the import thing .but with the next complete installation this effekt was away and the only thing i can "import" is gtk.the rest of the modules is not found.
what i guess is, that other users of this program have a requirement installed that is not mentioned on the list of requirements.
but as i told before i am just a dump-user.
i come to this conclusion, because i also tried the standalonesolution that is also not running (see the bug id 3061159 ).but i installed both on two different pc´s and it does not work on both with similar failures.and if other people would have the same problems google would have mentioned it ,i think.
so i think there is nothing wrong with the files but probably with my preconditions .
if you need further information please tell me .
i would be very thankful or any hint or i hope easy-understandable solution.

I had the same problem when I run pycam v0.3 as malcolmxiv. Now I'm trying the standalone latest release (v0.4) but I have problems when I want to generate the toolpath. When I click on the button appears the following message in the .exe:
Usage: pycam
Start the PyCAM toolpath generator. Supplying one of the '-export-?' parameters will cause PyCAM to start in batch mode. Most parameters are useful only for batch mode.
PyCAM: error: no such option: -multiprocessing-fork
I would be very greatful if you could help me.
Isabel.

I currently have no idea, how the option "-multiprocessing-fork" could appear anywhere. It is not mentioned in the code of PyCAM.
Did you add it somehow?
Anyway: could you please describe in more detail, where you click and what happens then?
thanks!
Lars

I now realized the source of the problem: the standalone executable does not work with multiple CPU cores on Windows. This is really a pity, but I don't see a quick fix for this.
You can download the latest update of the standalone executable: it disables parallel processing und thus should work without problems.
thanks for your report!

Hi Karl-Heinz,
this issue should be resolved with the latest release (v0.4) of PyCAM.
Please tell me, if you still encounter problems with this release!
cheers,
Lars

Hi Isabel,
thanks for trying the new release!
