The documentation is very short on this end here:

I assume everything is modular, and not much fixed to bibtex, but you
get the point...
I thought I just scan the code to see how it works, but after reading a
bunch of screen pages and the PDFs called documentation I notice it is
harder then I thought...
Can anyone help me out here? Any pointers?
