I found a couple of posts related to this topic on the forum but none of
them seemed to give an answer so apologies for asking the question again
I am trying to create an EXE file using PY2EXE for an app that uses
wxPython, matplotlib and wxmpl. Unfortunately PY2EXE bombed out saying
"can't find wxmsw26uh_vc.dll". This file exists so not sure why PY2EXE
can't find it. The guys on the wxpython forum suggested that there was a
problem with dependencies. My setup.py is as follows (basically the file
that Charlie Moad posted a month or two back with some hacks).
# For py2exe only
from distutils.core import setup
setup( version = '0.0.1',
windows = ['gui_v3.py'],
'excludes': ['_gtkagg', '_tkagg']
Thanks in advance

got the same error, when I tried matplotlib and wxmpl with a newer
wxpython release (22.214.171.124).
'wxmsw26uh_vc.dll' is part of the 2.6.f.f releases of wxpython. I copied
this dll to my system folder
and it works like a charme.
If you also use a 2.7.ff release of wxpython you should give it a try,
or compile matplotlib against wxpython 2.7.f.f.
