Many thanks for the response.
Just for the record...
As suggested, I added win32traceutil and it gave me an error similar to
> pythoncom error: ERROR: server.policy could not create an instance.
> Traceback (most recent call last):
> File "win32com\server\policy.pyc", line 144, in CreateInstance
> File "win32com\server\policy.pyc", line 202, in _CreateInstance_
> File "win32com\server\policy.pyc", line 688, in call_func
> __init__ requires 1 argument, 2 supplied
> pythoncom error: CPyFactory::CreateInstance failed to create
> instance. (80004005)
One of my colleagues spotted that two of our Python objects had __init__
methods that expected parameters
to be passed in which COM doesn't like. By supplying the __init__
methods with default parameters
we were able to get the COM .dll to work.
