in my program directory but when I try to install py2exe 0.5.4 I

I would appreciate any help.

The only explanation I can give you is that you downloaded py2exe for python
2.4, which was built with Visual Studio 7. Download the py2exe for python
2.3 and that should fix it. :) (alternately, install python 2.4, depending
on what binary extensions you're depending on this may not be a good idea.
For example, I'm stuck with python 2.3 until Audiere has new/better python
bindings, and that's because I finally built them with my own copy of MSVC++.
I don't have Visual Studio 7...)
(At least, that's how I'm reading it)
