Now I dev on Vista and deploy to Vista, XP, 7 (testing) and Win2K without any problems. One thing to keep in mind when moving from XP to Vista and Win7 is the MS UAC stuff. Very simplified, do not have anything writable in your program folder - check out the InnoSetup site (either FAQ or Knowledge base) for more details. If you go with Python 2.6.2 (I don't think 2.6.0/1 worked) make sure that you use e.g. the latest wxPython version and you have to make sure that you deploy the MS runtime dll's correctly (either using the MS installer for it or install them locally to your app folder - see the wiki here: http://wiki.wxpython.org/Deployment Werner |
