From what I can tell on the wxpython-users mail list, Python 2.6.2's use of a Windows manifest file is incompatible with some libraries like wxPython. Robin Dunn (wxPython maintainer) has published a hack to patch an earlier release of Python 2.6 and is working on a solution that doesn't require patching the Python exe/dll's at all. If this sounds like it describes your situation, you may want to search the wxpython mail list archives or ask for more details on the wxpython-users mailing list.

Subject: [Py2exe-users] python 2.6.2 did not solve vista issue?
I was eagerly awaiting the release of python 2.6.2 because that would
solve the issue with running my app on Vista. Unfortunately this has
not changed, still the R6034 error
Is this experience universal or am I doing something wrong?
