Pxys, an IRCU ProxyScanner / News: Recent posts

Version 2.1 released

Many bugs since version 2.0 have been fixed. But the major change is the new PXTarget application that replaces usual targets. (a target is where the scanner tries to make the possibly open proxy connect to). PXTarget uses an sha256 hash based on a shared secret and a timestamp to make sure there will never be any false positives in proxy detection. Another new feature is the detection of HTTP GET proxies.

OPAS (Open Proxy Ascertainment Service) is a small protocol written (1) for interaction between OPAS servers and OPAS clients and (2) for interactions among multiple OPAS servers to create a distributed system of OPAS servers (proxy scanners). Point (2) is not available yet :)... read more

Version 1.9 released

This is the last of a long trip of 1.x releases. Upgrade is recommended and should solve lots of problems. Some important rewrites are expected for 2.0, with, in option, a way to catch/monitor the worst channels (ie. with many proxies).
