Pwdrill 0.1.1_beta1 (windows edition) released

Pwdrill development continues with the release of v0.1.1_beta1. This version sports greater multi-platform compatibility and is the first version of pwdrill to work out-of-the-box with Microsoft Windows(R). Also, the drill order is now randomized to help prevent the user from developing false associations during the drill.

The 0.1.1 branch has been through a great amount of testing and has therefore been deemed beta-worthy. However, its complete stabilization may be eclipsed by the development of a Gtk+ GUI that is in the works!

Pwdrill 0.1 (stable) released

The first stable version of pwdrill, v0.1, has been released! The latest release has a few documentation and formatting tweaks, but is the same code as the prior beta. Download your own copy today!

In coordination with this release, pwdrill's primary development repository has been moved to SourceForge.net's Subversion service, and CVS use has been discontinued. This change should facilitate more rapid pwdrill development by helping to simplify project management in various ways.

This program enables a user to make use of passwords of ideal complexity and obscurity without being temped to write them down. By combining practically unbreakable cryptography with easy flashcard-style review, pwdrill reinforces and confirms a user's memory of passwords without becoming a security liability itself.... read more
