Hi, its great to see others working on a PVM patch for povray. I have written my own patch for povray (based heavily on - read a copy of - the previous patch), with most of the original support - minus pvm_hosts which I couldn't be bothered coding... I see you are well on the way to developing your own version, so I have posted a few comments on my changes which you may want to look at. See http://www.karekare.co.nz/matthewg/pvmpovray35.html for some notes I have made. Feel free to fire any comments flames etc in my direction. I'd love to see what you've achieved so far, but I'll have to figure out CVS first right? Matthew. -- Matthew Grove <mat...@ih...> |

Hi all, I've created a PVMPOV CVS mailing list, so that any CVS commit can automatically be sent there and to allow people to keep track of ongoing changes. Bye, Jakob |

(repost, few days old now) The "first pass" of the PVMPOV patch for POVRay 3.5 is now in the CVS. All I can do is comfirm that it compiles with and without PVM. To use PVM, you have to put #define PVM into the conf.h file in src directory after running ./configure. I was not able to check if it uses PVM correctly (PVM wouldn't run). If = you=20 get it running, then please email me. There are a few bugs already - I have already added them to the bug track= er. =20 Most have to do with PVM options which are currently ignored (slave, host= ,=20 WD, arch). Any other bugs or feature requests, add them to the trackers at=20 http://sf.net/projects/pvmpov/ BTW: If I'm not mistaken, this is the first post to this mailing list. C= an=20 more activity be expected? Have fun. Later Lee Begg -- Newest PVMPOV developer http://pvmpov.sf.net/ http://sf.net/projects/pvmpov/ |
