Well, C is supposed to be a general purpose language. Or when was the 
last time you used it to do some *real* systems programming? ;-)

PS: No news on the matrix/vector stuff yet, but in the meantime I have 
thunks working, so Pure finally has lazy lists and all that stuff now. 
(I still have to overhaul the prelude, though, so that the list 
operations properly deal with infinite lists.)
