Thanks for that link. And at the end of that page it says:

That pretty much sums it up. :)

Ok, so POSIX decided not to follow Goldberg's recommendation there, for 
whatever reason. Well, at least Pure's ln and log are in conformance 
with POSIX then, even though it doesn't make much sense mathematically.

Eddie, as I said, I don't think it's useful to battle the established 
standards, so I'm afraid the we'll have to live with it.
