I've created a very simple video mixer and when I load videos after about 1 minute Pure:Data crashes. Here's the terminal output whilst running Pd

Please provide as detailed information as possible including which operating system (OS), CPU type, specific hardware, and the exact distro and version of Pd itself, etc.

    For example:

    Pd version 0.41.4-extended
    Mac OS X 10.5.7/Intel
    built-in sound

do you also get crashes, if you:
    - use the standalone player for libavifile called "aviplay"
on debian this comes in the avifile-player package
(in this case the problem is most likely with your version of libavifile; please file a bug-report at their tracker)

    - only load Gem at startup
the simplest way to test this is to start a console and run: "pd -noprefs -lib Gem"
(if this doesn't crash, then we have a conflict with other libraries; try to find out which)

    - compile Gem yourself (grab it from http://gem.iem.at\)
(if this still crashes, please file a bug-report in the gem bug-tracker; you can find the URL in Gem's splash-screen)

I'm using PD 0.42.5 extended on Ubuntu 10.10. Computer specs: Dell Studio 1555: Pentium Dual Core T4300(2.1GHz,800MHz,1MB), 4096MB 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel, 512 MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570

II tried playing through aviplay and whilst the file still plays I still get the error: "[mp2 @ 0x8e4caa0]incorrect frame size
Diverting av_*_packet function calls to libavcodec. Recompile to improve performance"

Thanks for the advice. Will try using the version that comes with Ubuntu and report back

    Is this still an issue?
