#270 symbolatom of width 1 cannot be edited

If I set a symbolatom (Ctl-4) to have width of 1 character, it cannot be edited manually. Setting trough its receiver is still possible. Checked with 0.40 vanilla.

Cannot reproduce on Mac OS X 10.5.6/Intel using Pd-vanilla 0.42-4 nor Pd version 0.41.4-extended-20090413
