[vu] has no "send symbol", only "receive symbol". I use this mostly for hiding inlets/outles, but I can't hide the outlets of [vu] cause it doesn't have it

yes, [vu] does not generate information on its own, but it does pass it through and can send whatever it's receiving as an input
