Internet Gateway Device (IGD) for UPnP support request

ie. NAT traversal so can use UPnP over the internet and trough home/office routers that support NAT.
NAT = Network Address Translation
http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Address_Translation
http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Upnp

If implemented please make it optional (enable/disable)

Hope one of these can be ported/compiled for FreeBSD:

    Again, this would be so that one could reach FreeNAS built-in UPnP server and stream/copy files through a network ruoter (over the internet or a WAN), thus this would be usefull if implemented into FreeNAS. The enable/disable option is only for security so that one can choose to activate it if one want to use this function, and as such this NAT traversal function for the UPnP ports should probebly be deactivated by default (out-of-the-box on installtion so to speak).

    PS! Thank you all for libupnp (I use it in FreeNAS)

    Automatic UPnP port forwarding function: Class that emulates Microsoft's Internet Connection Service (ICS). Implementing parts of the UPnP Internet Gateway Device (IGD) specification to allow UPnP-aware clients, to work properly from behind a NAT firewall.

    That is not a basic UPnP functionality but a service that has to be added using e.g. libupnp - so nothing that has to be implemented into the library
