I am testing ptpd on two system, actually running rtems so I am not sure this is a definite bug but handle passes in a null pointer to netSelect. With two systems running the code it would appear that both will hang since select will never timeout and both will wait for a message.

Is this correct or should this be passing in some valid timeout value.

In current PTP version. Net select relay on signal from timer SIGALRM. This signal breaks "select" infinite loop and cause it to return.

I'm sorry but do you mean that you are running two copies of ptpd on the same host?

It is not possible to run two instances of ptpd at the same time. The latest code explicitly prevents this from occurring.
