Hello, Pt can be compiled for Android, but it is a bit tricky at the moment. We plan to improve Android support early 2016. Do you need clang for OS-X or Android? regards, Marc On 30 December 2015 at 02:38, Apivan Tuntakurn <api...@or...> wrote: > Dear Sirs > > We are interested in this Pt framework. > But, we have some concerns about the framework portability. > > Could you please give us the information on the following questions > > - Does the framework available on Android's official C++ compiler? > - Can the framework be compiled with Clang? > - If not, is there a future plan for supporting above compiler? Dear Sirs We are interested in this Pt framework. But, we have some concerns about the framework portability. Could you please give us the information on the following questions - Does the framework available on Android's official C++ compiler? - Can the framework be compiled with Clang? - If not, is there a future plan for supporting above compiler? Please give us an approximate date. Thank you in advance Yours Faithfully Apivan Tuntakurn Software Developer C++ |

Thank you very much for your kind offer! The project is still at an early conceptual stage, but I'm drawing up some prototype classes to implement the basic scenarios (like synchronization of collections of business objects over the network, etc) and get back to you then. Perhaps those scenarios are in a generalized form itself interesting as examples - if possible, I'd like to contribute. Kind Regards and thanks again, Chris On 05/08/2013 04:23 PM, Marc Dürner wrote: > Hi, > > > I'm also considering using cxx/tntnet/tntdb/s11n for the project, but > did not yet get cxxtools, and, subsequently tntnet/tntdb to compile > under msys/mingw which I understand should not be a problem with > Platinum. > > > You can compile with mingw, but since mingw is still 'beta' I recommend > to try the free visual c++ compiler from Microsoft. > > > Any help to getting started, any hints, are greatly appreciated! > > > I am planning to write more tutorials soon. Hello, Platinum looks like it could provide all the functionality I need for a project, namely a HTTP server that sends and processes RPC (formatting does not really matter, binary would be fine) requests, serves HTML pages and stores/retrieves its data from a Postgres or SQLite database or serialized C++ object collections stored in binary files. However I'm having a hard time getting started. For XML-RPC, there is a nice beginner's tutorial, but for serialization/deserialization all I could find is the class documentation which is not all that helpful if you don't know already what components you need to do what, same goes for the HTTP server and DB layer. I've tried to get some idea by looking at the tests bundled with the source, but didn't really get too far. As for the database and http/rpc parts, TNT cxxtools and TNTdb have nice examples and I wonder about the "compatibility" of the respective classes. I also understand that cxxtools provides serialization classes similar to Platinum, but I didn't find any examples for these either. I'm also considering using cxx/tntnet/tntdb/s11n for the project, but did not yet get cxxtools, and, subsequently tntnet/tntdb to compile under msys/mingw which I understand should not be a problem with Platinum. Any help to getting started, any hints, are greatly appreciated! Thank you very much in advance and kind regards, Chris |

Hi, I’m Nicole Haenni and I'm doing research for my thesis at the University of Berne (scg.unibe.ch) with Mircea Lungu and Niko Schwarz. We are researching on monitoring the activity in software ecosystems. This is a study about information needs that arise in such software ecosystems. I need your help to fill out the survey below. It takes about 10 minutes to complete it. A software ecosystem can be a project repository like GitHub, an open source community (e.g. the Apache community) or a language-based community (e.g. Smalltalk has Squeaksource, Ruby has Rubyforge). We formulate our research question as follows: "What information needs arise when developers use code from other projects, or see their own code used elsewhere." Survey link: http://bit.ly/14Zc71N or original link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFBJUmVodVU1V3BMMGRPRWxBdjdDbVE6MA Thank you for your support! Hi Florin, We have just updated the jam build system in trunk a short while ago, and I am still working on the docs and the website updates. You can build the debug version this way: jam configure --debug NOTE: debug and optimization are controlled by command line args now, so you can set them independently. With --debug, you enable a debug build. With --optimize you enable an optimized build. The advantage is that you can set both independently. NOTE: Some other good news is that your toolset should be detected, even when you use a regular cmd.exe.You only need to set it if you have multiple versions ov visual studio installed. The Pt-Cma is usable, but not yet finished. We are missing some good use-cases to really make this work. It is meant to be a lightweight component model similar to COM, but with a better C++ API. The code is not very large and easily to understand, so if you are interested in the development of such a component model you are welcome to jump in :-) best regards, Marc On 18 March 2012 23:19, Florin Lozneanu <flo...@ya...> wrote: > Hi, > > Is the Pt-Cma module usable ? Hi, Is the Pt-Cma module usable ? And if it is then is there any tutorial / sample that show off this module ? Another issue: I tried to build the Platinum Framework using VC9 as follow: 1. jam configure -sTOOLSET=vc9 -sCONFIG=debug 2. jam -sTOOLSET=vc9 -sCONFIG=debug All went well but the built DLLs were not suitable for debugging (looking in the manifest files I noticed that the expected C-runtime is Microsoft.VC90.CRT). Thanks, Florin |

Hi Marc,
That's great news! I am most definitely looking forward to that. I've got a project coming up in a couple of months that I'm hoping to use Pt on. I'll keep an eye on the Pt. When the SSL code is available, I will start working with it. Perhaps I can provide some testing/feedback ;-)
Thanks,

Hi Gerry,
Yes we do want to add SSL/TLS support via openssl soon. Aloysius has written a
prototype implementation of Pt-Ssl with full support for iostream,
streambuffers and
non-blocking/async I/O :-) I reviewed it for him while he was
developing it and he did
a great job! The status is that all hard design problems are solved,
but the API needs
a bit more polishing.
best regards,
Marc

Hi Gerry,
There is no concrete Roadmap to do that, though in the past we have shared
a lot of code between the two projects, so it is very possible to have a tntnet
some day that builds on Pt. I would love to see this happen, but in the end it
is the descision of the tntnet developers.

Hi Neto,
1) TestMain.h provides a mainloop. You don't have to use it, if you
want to have your own main().
Here is an example of a minimal main():
int main()
{
Pt::Unit::Application app;
std::ofstream fs("log.txt");
Pt::Unit::Reporter reporter(fs);
app.setReporter(reporter);
return app.run();
}
2) Implement a Unit::TestSuite and register at least one method.
Register the test with a RegisterTest object.
class MyTestSuite : public Pt::Unit::TestSuite
{
public:
MyTestSuite ()
: Pt::Unit::TestSuite("MyTestSuite ")
{
this->registerMethod( "Test1", *this, &MyTestSuite ::Test1);
}
void setUp()
{ }
void tearDown()
{ }
void Test1()
{ }
};
Pt::Unit::RegisterTest<MyTestSuite > register_MyTestSuite;
3) link against Pt-Unit
regards,
Marc
