No

PsyncX 2.0b2 seems to be broken under Mac OS X 10.2.6.

I get this message on the console when I click the 'Run
Backup Now' button:

## Component Manager: attempting to find symbols in a
component alias of type (regR/carP/x!bt)
syntax error: Expected ‚Äú"‚Äů but found unknown token.

Please paste in everything that shows up in your Terminal window so that I
can see exactly what is going on.

Sorry but that's all I get. That's everything.

I've discovered that this first message is actually caused
by a Quicktime Video CD Support plugin installed by Toast:

    ## Component Manager: attempting to find symbols in a
    component alias of type (regR/carP/x!bt)

This shows up in the log for lots of other applications
besides PsyncX. To fix that problem the plugin can be
removed, it's called 'Toast Video CD Support.qtx' and gets
installed into /Library/Quicktime. If I remove it from my
system I no longer get that message when I click on the 'Run
Backup Now' button. This other syntax error message remains
though (and of course the backup does not run):

syntax error: Expected " but found unknown token. (-2741)

That message appears on the console whenever a backup is
selected and the 'Run Backup Now' button is clicked.

Should I also be getting a dialog box asking for an
Administrator password when I click 'Run Backup Now'? I'm
not, all that happens is that the error message appears on
the console. I do get an Administrator password dialog box
when I click 'Save Changes' though.

Sorry I can't give you any more to go on.

Oh, I did also notice that if the 'Run Backup Now' button is
clicked while no backup is selected then you get an array
    beyond bounds error:

    2003-06-05 21:44:09.848 PsyncX[606] *** -[NSCFArray
objectAtIndex:]: index (-1) beyond bounds (1)

I guess that's not really too important though, I'm just
really fussy about trapping things like that. ;-)

What is the name of the drive you are backing up from? What
about the drive you are backing up to? Do they have any umlats
    or other Unicode characters?

Also, thanks for the tip about the beyond bounds error. I have
    that fixed now.

    I'm trying to backup from:
    /Users/jonmc/downloads

    to:
    /Volumes/Jonathan Mckeown's iPod/downloads

Sorry I took so long to reply, I'm really busy at the
    moment. :-(
