#4 pstream::close() should return program exit status as pclose(3) does

The attached patch makes it so, and updates the test program to make use of the feature, simplifying its code in all cases. It results in no test output diffs other than to timestamps and to the "Nothing to read NN times" lines.

I assume this library has no policy against ABI breakages, there being no ABI per se in a header-only library.
