Hi Willem,
We have recently noticed that psradd does not work well with input files which do not have same
number of subintegrations when adding in frequency (-R) and we use the option to patch
in time (-m time). Now psradd add does not patch and instead of appending it create the new
file with the same name over and over again for every input file.
If the number of subintegrations is the same it does append files, no problem.
I attach two files, two halfs of the band, with the same number of subintegrations of 169, b0809_65.scr.[01].ar, and another file b0809_65.scr.1.n168.ar which has 1 subintegration less.
psradd: starting with b0809_65.scr.0.ar
psradd: New filename: 'test.ar'
psradd: patching any missing sub-integrations
psradd: appending b0809_65.scr.1.ar
psradd: Unloading archive: 'test.ar'
psradd: starting with b0809_65.scr.0.ar
psradd: New filename: 'test2.ar'
psradd: Archives have different numbers of sub-integrations; into=169 from=168
psradd: Auto add - tscrunch and unload 873.124 s archive
psradd: starting with b0809_65.scr.1.n168.ar
psradd: New filename: 'test2.ar'
psradd: Unloading archive: 'test2.ar'
The patching worked back in December of last year at least.
Hope it will help to fix the issue.
Thanks
bump
Ryan Lynch and I are now seeing this exact same issue at Green Bank while testing merging of VEGAS files across frequency (for the new UltraWideband receiver)....
