    Dear Dr Bach

Thank you for a great program. I'd like to analyse data collected from a pulse oxymeter through a BIOPAC system (either .acq format or exported to matlab) but can only see an option for importing PPU data from Philips Scanphyslog. I've tried importing it as custom / heart rate / beat data but then the preprocessing from PPU to heartbeat doesn't work. Is there any way I can use PsPM for this?

    Many thanks,
    Jo

    Hi Jo

you are right, in the current version of PsPM it is not possible to import PPU data. This is a bit odd, since running the conversion PPU to heartbeat only accepts ppu channels, which in this case is too strict. I think for you, the easiest way is to comment lines 63 to 66 in scr_ppu2hb.m (or pspm_ppu2hb, depending on the PsPM version you have). This makes the conversion function less strict. Then custom channels should be accepted if the channel number is specified when calling the conversion function. Let me know if this works for you.

In future versions of the PsPM importing ppu channels will be possible. This requires a bit more changes in the code, but if you're interested you can check the SVN commit: https://sourceforge.net/p/pspm/svn/466/ (in the new version there will also be a change from the prefix scr_ to pspm_, so be careful with these if you try to take over the changes).

    Best
    Tobias
