    Hi Felix,

    I am trying to do PSM in SPSS 20. I'd got R 2.12 and SPSS R Essential 20 installed. After that, I ran the syntax box test (as described in the readme.txt file) and everything went well. Then I successfully installed the Psmatching 3.03 (PSMATCHING303.spe) in SPSS in administrator mode.

    When I test its function with the given file minimaltest.sav, the result appeared to be:

    GET
    FILE='D:\minimaltest.sav'.
    DATASET NAME DataSet1 WINDOW=FRONT.
    PSMATCHING3
    /VARS
    ID = ID
    TREAT = treatment
    COVS = x1 x2
    /MATCHIT
    MATCH=NEAREST
    EST =LOGIT
    DISCARD = NONE
    MORDER = LARGEST
    RATIO = 1
    CALIPER = .2
    INTERACTION
    /PLOT HISTPLOT JITTERPLOT HISTBAL DOTPLOT INDBAL RESOLUTION = 96
    /OUTPUT ALL MATCHED.

    It reported no errors, but actually there were no plots or data displayed in the output window, and no new dataset was created.

    I don't quite understand this situation. How could I solve this problem? Thank you!

    Problem Solved!

    I moved to another computer today. It is with Windows 7 (64 bit), Office 2010 (32 bit), SPSS 18 (32 bit) installed. And I installed R 2.08, SPSS R Plug-in 18 and Psmatching 2 for it. And then it works!

    However, it still does not work with my laptop (Windows 7 64 bit, Office 2007 32 bit, SPSS 20 32 bit, R 2.12, SPSS R Plug-in 20, Psmatching 3.03). I can't find out why it is like this.

      Dear Hua,
      First: I am glad that version 2 worked out for you. Exactly why
      version 3.03 is not working for you, is hard to tell.
      It sounds like you are not getting ANY error message whatsoever and
      also no output. This is strange indeed. Have you confirmed that the R
      Plugin is working, by submitting a simple command, as described in the
      README?

      Best,
      Felix
