Hello Craig. I'm attaching a patch that fixes rhbz#1078887. This only adapts the path length to a sufficient value, but I haven't checked, whether the octal escaping is then processed correctly. The path length needs to be increased anyway, so ... please, apply this.

Thanks for the patch. It's applied now. There git repository has moved across to gitlab now, including the issues register, but I'm still looking on this one from time to time.
