I'm not sure if this mailing list is active, I never saw much activity here.
The psignifit docs page you link to was last updated in 2014 so I would
expect things to not work in 2022. :)

Maybe this psignifit will work for you:

it was last modified 7 months ago so it seems to be a maintained version of
psignifit.

[psignifit-users] Plotting wrong data

Hi Everyone,

I’m having an unusual problem. I am using psignifit to fit a cumulative gaussian to my data. I have 6 stimulus levels, and most of the time the cumulative gaussian is a good fit, but in some cases the first 4 levels are all zeros and then the last two are both ones. For some reason, every time psignifit tries to plot this, even though the data is correct in the “results” matrix, it plots 4 zeros and then the last two points both at .25. I am scouring the code trying to figure out at what point some kind of transformation happens. I’m assuming that it’s having a hard time because there is no variability between zero and 1. There is never any error message and it computes threshold etc. but I am just at a loss as to how to get the function to plot the actual numbers I’m calling in.

Any advice welcomed!

[psignifit-users] Calculating change in y-axis threshold

Hi,

I’m new to psignifit, and am incorporating it into some existing codes. I have two blocks of data each fit with a cumulative normal. I’m essentially trying to measure the change in the y-axis component of the threshold from block 1 to block 2. For block 1, the y value will be .5 since that is predetermined, but I’m not sure how to calculate the y value on the curve that corresponds to a particular, specified x value. Is there a simple way to do this?

Hello!
i am very new to psignifit and I am trying to analyse  some data I got from
a crowding experiment. I have collected the proportion of trials for which
a participant replied "clockwise orientation" for every stimulus level I
used (different orientations of the target) with the method of constant
stimuli. The task was 2AFC (the target has CW orientation or CCW). Now
after making a scatter of my data (% CW as a function of stimulus level) I
need to fit a psychometric function to that data in order to obtain the
threshold. How can I do this in psignifit? A basic issue I have is that in
the demos I show the y axis was from 0.5 to 1 not from 0 to 1.

I managed to unzip the file and I entered the "make install" command on the Terminal. Now, I got many error lines, many of them saying things like this:

if it is already unzipped, you should be able to simple cd into the  
folder and go from there, right?

[psignifit-users] Problem running psignifit on mac OS Sierra

I upgraded my system recently to mac OS Sierra. When trying to run Psignifit I got the following error at system > output

 

dyld: Library not loaded: build/libpsipp.so

  Referenced from: /Users/myusername/bin/psignifit-mcmc

  Reason: image not found

 

 

I notice than at usr/lib there was no libpsipp.so library installed, and then when calling make cli-install again, it failed to copy the library. I found out that Apple prevents writing data into that folder nowadays. However, if one installs libpsipp.so in usr/local/lib/ instead, than the Psignifit works well once again.

 

My problem got fixed this way, so perhaps makefile could be updated? Or do you envisage future problems by doing this?
