Hi, all. Mathias reminded me that I had not yet sent this paper around. We mentioned the value of mzML NativeID as a way to anchor quality metrics to a particular MS/MS scan. I argued that estimating "identifiability" for a spectrum was one use case in which this anchoring would be useful. Ze-Qiang Ma, a talented researcher I trained back at Vanderbilt, once published a paper on our approach to use our DirecTag sequence tagging engine to assess which spectra are most likely to be identified in a RAW file. While DirecTag is maintained code, the ScanRanker interface is not. Just the same, I am sure we could knock together a script to translate a .tags file plus an .mzML file into a mzQC JSON string.
