[Psidev-ms-dev] Referendum for 'mzML/runList/run/dataGroupList' in mzML (used to be dataXML)

Dear PSI-MS enthousiasts,


During the PSI meeting in Lyon in April, concerns were raised about the
'mzML/runList/run/dataGroupList' element in mzML (originally dataXML).

This element is a bit of a monster (essentially a placeholder for lists
that each can contain anything at all).

Since no one present at the meeting could remember exactly why this
element should be there, it was decided to forward this on to the
mailing list for a final consultation.

You can find the current draft of the schema, an XML Spy image of the 
element and the information in this mail on the PSI website as well, at

Note that you can directly make comments on this site as well.

The following proposal is made: if you feel that this element should
remain in place, please send your motivation to the list or post it on 
the above webpage BEFORE Monday, 18th of June 2007.

If a good reason for maintaining this element hasn't surfaced by that
time, the element will be retired from the schema.
