I am a curator on a database which is using the Molecular Interaction Ontology to describe a protein-protein interaction. I was wondering if it was possible to add other terms into the interaction detection method in order to improve the specificity of our own database. In the Molecular Interaction, there is the interaction detection method....

Molecular Interaction
Interaction Detection Method
Experimental Interaction Detection
Biochemical
Enzymatic Study
Deacetylase Assay, etc.

In the enzymatic study, would it be possible to add ubiquitination assay and deubiquitination assay?

These terms are found in some of our interactions and it would be better to be able to specify the description of the experiment used. This, in turn, would also add your ontology accepted in the molecular interaction ontology.

Please email me if you have any comments or questions on furthering this subject. I would appreciate a response regarding this matter.

Thank you for your time,
Melissa
