GpsPrune is a free software tool for editing, viewing, and converting coordinate data, for example from GPS units. Its homepage is at https://gpsprune.activityworkshop.net/. It's free software and runs on Linux, Mac, Solaris and Windows systems.
Because GpsPrune is free software, users are able to contribute to its development. The aim of these wiki pages is to make it easier to make contributions and get them included in the program. The main focus is on translating the texts shown by the program into other languages, to increase the number of potential users.
The default language for GpsPrune is English, and currently there are many alternative languages provided in varying states of completion.
Complete languages: [TextsGerman], [TextsSwissGerman]
Very nearly complete: [TextsDutch], [TextsChinese], [TextsItalian], [TextsRussian], [TextsHungarian], [TextsSpanish], [TextsFrench]
Nearly complete: [TextsPolish], [TextsRomanian], [TextsFinnish], [TextsSwedish], [TextsPortuguese], [TextsCzech], [TextsAfrikaans]
Newly begun: [TextsUkrainian], [TextsNorwegian], [TextsWelsh]
Possibly abandoned: [TextsKorean], [TextsJapanese], [TextsTurkish], [TextsIndonesian], [TextsDanish], [TextsFarsi]
The current percentage completion rates for each language (probably more up-to-date than this list) are shown on the development page: https://activityworkshop.net/software/gpsprune/development.html
If you would like to translate some texts, or edit a translation which you think is wrong, you can do this just by finding the appropriate page (one for each language) and using the "Edit this page" button to change the corresponding text(s). It will help to have a copy of GpsPrune running, to double-check the context of the text.
The languages listed above as "possibly abandoned" aren't currently up-to-date in this wiki as they haven't been edited for some time. Therefore their pages will appear empty. If you want to reawaken one of those languages, just edit the page and wait for it to get re-filled with the previous translations.
Similarly, if you want to start a new language, just create a page for it and wait for it to get filled with the blank template.
If for some reason you don't find this wiki approach convenient, or if you don't want a Sourceforge login, you're welcome to try this alternative system at https://activityworkshop.net/translate .
Or if you'd rather use github you can try https://github.com/activityworkshop/GpsPrune/wiki .
