I don't want to enable tor. If the first line in my proxychains is "socks4 127.0.0.1 905" [or 9050] proxychains times out, then goes on to the next and final entry (always an http connection) and never connects. Sometimes I see "connection refused" and other times it just times out.
If the problem is that I don't have tor enabled, is there some way I can modify proxychains so I can get around the tor requirement?
I've worn out my welcome at whatsmyip.com trying to resolve the problem :-(
