The location is D:\Data as well as the converted file. I did not mention in my previous messages, but I tried with other locations like Desktop, and with other computer. In both cases (2 different locations, 2 different computers) I have the same error message. Our computer work under Windows XP.Apparently another user had the same problem in 2012 (http://sourceforge.net/p/proteowizard/mailman/proteowizard-support/?viewmonth=201204) but I did not find the solution. On 6 June 2014 17:34, Chambers, Matthew <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:
That looks fine. What directory is the file located in? And where are you trying to save the converted file?

The name of the file is "LC_060214_VL956_01_SagaXlink.mzML".
I also tried to use MSConvert by changing the name to "LC_060214.mzML" but I still have the same error message.

Hello,I used MSConvert of ProteoWizard 3.0.4743 to convert .mzML files (data obtained from an LTQ-Orbitrap Elite (Thermo)) to .mzXML files. It worked very well and I did not have any problem.
However, I have currently the error message "Illegal characters in path". Therefore I downloaded the more recent version 3.0.6318 but I still have the same error message. Please find attached the error details.
Please let me know how we can fix this problem. Thank you in advance.
