#2 Cannot select residues with ALT modifier?

I loaded a random PDB file and tried to mutate loop into beta-strand that I thought would be more fitting in this place.

Whenever I tried to select individual residues while holding ALT key, I've seen no reaction from ProteinShop.
It seems that the alt+mouse click (or mouse-down/-up) is used by Window Manager to relocate window, so it is the only effect I get.

Any hints or workarounds?
(I use latest version of ProteinShop & Ubuntu.)

I also tried to select residues with residue dialog, but the protein is long (>300 residues), and the "slider" jumps by 4-5 residues at the same time, so I cannot select every residue.
I also tried to split coil and change an SS assignment for whole coil fragment, but Combo in Structure Dialog didn't respond to clicks.
