Hi list members, I'm new to prosper (and this list). I've been making a few simple presentations in prosper, and experimenting with the included style files (e.g., default.sty). However, I've noticed that, when I create PDF slides using prosper, and the text is set to a given size, the text is always cropped (that is, the words run off the slide). Do you have any idea what's wrong here? Is there any way to get prosper to wrap words? Why are my lines getting cropped in the PDF? I tried changing the \NewSlideStyle and \PDFCroppingBox options, but this didn't help the problem (I'm not sure if I did this correctly).. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Many thanks. Dear Prosper's users,
I am trying to use the listings package with prosper...
In the Prosper Faq I found a solution to use listings in this way:
\documentclass[pdf]{prosper}
\usepackage{listings}
\begin{document}
\newsavebox{\tmp}
\begin{lrbox}{\tmp}%
\begin{lstlisting}
Comme nous l'avons déjà vu lors de la présentation du \today,
Bib\TeX{} est un outil magnifique pour la génération automatique de
bibliographies.
\end{lstlisting}
\end{lrbox}
\overlays{2}{
\begin{slide}{toto}
\usebox{\tmp}
\end{slide}
}
\end{document}
The above example it is ok. It is working. But if I try to use
the command \lst instead of \begin{lstlisting} text
\end{lstlisting}, I got the following erro message:
*******************************************************************
...
(C:\texmf\tex\latex\amsfonts\umsb.fd)
Package hyperref Warning: bookmark level for unknown lstlisting
defaults to 0.
(file.pas) (C:\texmf\tex\latex\psnfss\t1ptm.fd)

line 20.
[1 ! Undefined control sequence. \hyper@linkstart
...hyper@currentlinktype
{#1}
l.20 \end{slide}
? ...
*******************************************************************
Here is the LaTeX code I am trying to use. file.pas can be any other file.
-------------------------------------------
\documentclass[%
pdf,
default
]{prosper}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{ae}
\usepackage{listings}
\begin{document}
\newsavebox{\tmpd}
\begin{lrbox}{\tmpd}%
\lstinputlisting[lastline=4]{file.pas}%
\end{lrbox}
%Slide tentando utilizar lstinputlisting
\begin{slide}{TEMP B}
\usebox{\tmpd}
\end{slide}
\end{document}
-------------------------------------------
Anyone can help me?
Thanks,
Auri

Greetings: I am using latex version e-TeX (Web2C 7.5.2) 3.141592-2.1 on a Mac G5 with dvips -t a4 and pstopdf. Everything seems to work when viewing from Acroread v6.0 except the transations. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Hi,
Had the same problem with prosper and the "-paper A4" didn't work for me
too. However
"dvips -P pdf -t A4 -z" worked.
hth
Bobby...
Ok, papersize is the problem. Is there anyway to configure prosper for
letter format? Else, printing slides is an issue where A4 format is not
available.
If this is not possible, how can I get xpdf to show up A4 properly? I
run the following:
latex glade.tex
dvipdf glade.dvi
xpdf -paper A4 glade.pdf
But the problem of croping still persist. :(

Hans Deragon

Hello, As explained in a previous mail, I have finally realized a WikiWikiWeb project dedicated to Prosper on www.tuxfamily.org (with phpwiki). <snip> A WikiWikiWeb is a site where everyone can collaborate on the content (through the browser with some clicks). </snip> This wiki is available here: http://wikiprosper.tuxfamily.org It doesn't contains many things currently. You will find there - a retranscripting of the main Prosper documentation - screenshots of the main themes - some (currently only two) howtos (inspired from the Mailing list discussions) - some useful links. - explanations on the What, Why, and How about Wiki and its uses. As said above, a wiki is mainly a collaborative work, so, feel you free to add there your contributions: howtos, links, hints, tips and tricks, questions, bugs, wishes, ... The most it will be done, the most it will be a good tool for every prosper users (to reference for instance in answers to some prosper user questions on this mailing list). Regards, Laurent. |

Hello Virgil, I am afraid you did not choose the right list for posting your mail: prosper-annonce is mainly for announcing new releases, while prosper-users is for general discussions about prosper (and also asking for help). Anyway. It is possible to use both Y&Y and distiller to create your slides provided you specify the YandY and distiller options in \documentclass. First, I have looked over some of the documentation on Prosper and also scanned the archived messages. I am a teacher and have been using the seminar package for many years in my lectures. This has worked quite well; but, now that I have had a glimpse of Prosper I would like to convert to this package. I am using the commercial package Y&YTeX on a Windows 2000 platform. This has a a very good GUI and works quite well with the Seminar package. However, it has it's own DVI and Postscript processors --- DVIWindo and DVIPSOne. I mainly perform the following two tasks in generating lecture material: 1) Overheads (transparencies) for my class lectures, 2) PDF files (containing these transparencies) for posting on the Web. Of course the overheads are produced via the Seminar package and I use Adobe Distiller (5.0) to generate PDF files from the Postscript files produced by DVIPSOne. I would be very interested in knowing how I could accomplish this with Prosper. Are there Prosper users running Y&YTeX? --V. Stokes |

Dear Prosper users, I have just released version 1.00.4 of Prosper on SourceForge. This is mainly a bug fix release (see ChangeLog and NEWS files). It is also the last version before version 1.01.01, which should include most of the suggestions made by users either directly to me or on the prosper-users list. Best regards, Frederic. N.B.: the version available on CTAN will not be upgraded until version 1.01.01. = -- = Fr=E9d=E9ric Goualard Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informat= ica Tel.: +31 20 592 4123 P.O. Dear Prosper users, I have just uploaded package 1.00.3 for prosper. This new version corrects some minor bugs in the documentation and in the style (see ChangeLog). It also adds support for distiller to translate PS files into PDF files. This is the last revision for the 1.0 series. I will rewrite the whole documentation for the next version (1.1) which should be released in the next few days. Best regards, Frederic. |
