i have a footnote within a slice within an itemize.
If i use footnote directly,
no footnotenumber occurs,
but some mysteious space where one expects it.

If i use explicit number \footnote[1]{text},
it works *quite* well,
although there is some space in the pdf-doc that does
not belong there.

Trying to resolve the problem with footnotetext...
and one has another problem with another bug.

the relevant part of my file is

\begin{slide}{Ausdr"ucke}
\ptsize{8}
\begin{defi}\label{def:expr}
Die Familie $({\cal E}_T)_{T\in\T}$
der {\em Ausdr"ucke vom Typ $T$} ist induktiv definiert:
%
\begin{itemize}
\item
F"ur $T\in\T$ und $C\in\C_T$ gilt $\langle T\rangle
C\in{\cal E}_T$%
\footnote[1]%
{Ohne cast "`$\langle T\rangle$"' braucht
der Ergebnistyp eines konstanten Ausdrucks "`$C$"'
nicht eindeutig zu sein:
Z.B.: $\emptyset\in\C_T$ f"ur alle $T\in\T$. }
.
\item
"`${\cal V}_T\subset{\cal E}_T$"' per Definition
(getypte Variablen).
