I am working on debugging an issue I've encountered.
My infosec policy mandates enforcement of RDP4 on all W2k3 servers. I am deploying this to be able to serve RDP via SSL VPN to non-windows (and windows) clients. It seems that if the rdp4 flag is set to "yes" in the applet parameter list, the color depth is limited to 8 bits, even though I specify a bpp of 24 or 16.
Any ideas would be helpful. Hopefully this weekend I'll be doing some further debugging.
