Getting started

I'm using this game/project as a way to better visualize and learn scripting and basic python before I go on to learn more advanced stuff. I've spent today reworking all the dialogue and all the options in the game (which, there aren't very many at the moment), as well as setting up a better more informative sourceforge page. Also, if you want to be sure to have the latest version I would suggest clicking "Browse All files" instead of clicking the download now button as it can easily get screwed up.

I hope you enjoy testing the game out. This is my current planned release schedule:

Every Wednesday will be a new "version" (i.e 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc.)

Every couple days will be a new update (i.e 0.1.1, 0.1.2, 0.1.3, etc.)

The Wednesday updates will generally have any new major features that I've been working on on the side. Such as images and sound. Beyond the images and sound additions the new versions will also probably have more fleshed out options instead of only one choice with the rest leading you to a "Thanks for playing, reload" type of page.

The smaller updates will generally have more dialogue and be taking the game further than what it was a few days ago. My goal is to be doubling the number of lines with every smaller update (granted eventually that'll be doubling enough to make it a new version) and eventually that goal will be cut back to something more reasonable. The smaller updates will also include any gimmicks or neat things I decided to try out that week, such as dynamic characters or new menu options. For example 0.1.1's gimmicky feature was the ability to rename the narrator and have the name continue to show up.

As far as when I'll be releasing a version 1.0 it'll be when I've "finished" the actual story portion of the game and have graphics and sound assets for the entire thing. Updates following that will be small bug fixes or typo fixes or things like that. I don't plan to have any major 1.1 updates coming out that add any content. I could change my mind by then depending on how the story is going.
