I'm new to projectM (and audio visualizers for that matter). Will projectM 1.2 allow me to visualize life audio input (basically my guitar connected to audio in)? What would I need (software- and hardware-wise) to do that?
What is "life" input? Do you mean live input? Anyway, tell me more about your system and I can help you make the right installation choices. Linux or Mac? If linux, what distribution are you running?
Yeah, I meant live input of course? This is my setup:
electric guitar -> Fasttrack (USB audio interface) -> Mac G4 (OS X 10.4)
That would mean you should wait until I release the jack port for mac. I might even get around to it tonite, but no promises! Are you willing to add jack to your sound system? If so, you will have to install jack osx and do some simple configuration steps to get it working with core audio properly. If you don't want to deal with Jack, then please suggest another way projectM could receive your (guitar) sound data that you may prefer on a mac, and maybe someday we'll write it!
