I just noticed the update to 1.9.
Downloaded and installed it.
On trying to open any previously used file (pod), I get the following error:
this value is before the tasks start
This dialog box and message shows up for every task.
If I open the file in 1.8, no problem.
Help!
Hello,
I've tried with different pod files written with ProjectLibre 1.8 and I have been able to open them successfully with 1.9 version.
Could give me more details to reproduce the problem? If you can attach a file with the problem, it would help.
Thanks
Laurent, it's a file from work so not sure about sharing as a post, but happy to send to you directly. Can you PM me your address?
As to other details, please let me know what else you'd like to know. Happy to provide details as necessary.
I installed v1.9 over 1.8 initially. Then I realized that both versions were somehow still installed. So I uninstalled v1.8. v1.9 didn't work. I had to reinstall v1.9 again. Then when I opened the files previously created under v1.8, I got the errors.
Perhaps the following makes a difference. I have a sync folder where I put all my work. (MS file sync). The sync ensures all info is also found on our server. I don't think it should matter but thought I would let you know.
I have just tried to open the file on a Mac using v1.9 and I get the same error messages.
Please send me the file at lchretienneau@projectlibre.org
It will really help. I'll troubleshoot.
Thank you!
I have the same issue. I have version 1.8 on my work computer and 1.9 on my home computer. I get the same error as Nuke when I open the file in 1.9.
Same problem here. If I click "OK" to that message a couple hundred times (or however many lines are in the project, did not count) the file opens, very annoying. It also refuses to allow changes to certain tasks (cannot complete 100%)
I'd like to report the same thing, although not happening to me personally, it is happening to several of my students. They create a project, have a particular overall duration according to parameters, save their work, re-open and the error "this value is before the tasks start...etc" appears for every line entry they have. As well, their project durations get altered because of the following phenomenon:
In some cases, what appears as well are indicators that the task constraint "Must start on" has been added to each line instead of the default "As soon as possible". I don't teach my students this so it is not them.
All my students are running 1.9, and most are using the Windows 10 OS. Some are using Mac OS, whether High Sierra or Mojave, but the issue seems to be OS-independent.
Using v1.7 in previous semesters did not have this issue, but interestingly enough, if the v1.9-created flle is attempted to be opened in v1.7, the same results occur.
If sample files are needed, I can pass several along. Thanks!
Update to my issue:
My students who instead use v1.7 created their work from scratch, and the exact same thing happens as above.....they cannot save and re-open without everything being altered. OS independent and now version independent. Could this be a java issue? Haven't tried v1.8 yet, but semester almost over so I won't be able to test until May.

One more note: Microsoft Project files open cleanly with no issues in 1.9 (2016). Saving these files in XML format renders the same result as if opening a .pod file in v1.9, with changed durations, added task attributes as per my original post.
Same problem, upgraded from 1.8 to 1.9 and have same message and have to acknowledge for each task line. Can I go back to version 1.8?
I have reverted back to 1.8 and all my files work as expected. I don't think I saved any file opened in 1.9 as I got so many error messages. So I don't know what happens when you've saved your file in v1.9 and try to revert to 1.8.
I've added a fix in version 1.9.1. It should solve at least a part of the problems.
@Laurent, what "part of the problems" has been resolved?
Hello @claur. I tried v1.9.1 and find that the start dates of many tasks have defaulted back to the first date of the project rather than what they were actually set.
At the moment, I'm sticking with 1.8.
Please let me know if you have any changes to test. I'm happy to try/test new versions.
