I am able to run ProjectLibre, it looks great and my openproj .pod files are opening correctly. However when I select an mpp created in MS Project 2010 from within the File - Open explorer window and press Open this explorer window closes but the file never opens nor is an error generated.

Can you take out anything proprietary like resource names etc. and send us a copy of the file ? Our developers would like to see what is not working as we have been testing internally. We'll get it working for you! You can send it to mobrien@projectlibre.org We will only use this for testing the import

I can't open any files either, I can create a new project, save it, export it to MS Project, but I can never reopen it with ProjectLibre (or any other file .mpp .pod or .xml)

We did a major re-write with ProjectLibre and the import of Microsoft Project 2010 files..... this is going to be the most tested and vulnerable areas of the Beta 1. We are releasing a beta 2 shortly and are focused on the import of Microsoft Project 2010 files. Let's keep in touch on this and we'll update you with our progress. Thank you for the feedback!

As opening .pod doesn't work, I tried exporting from OpenProj to MS 2003 XML and importing into ProjectLibre, but.. this doesn't open in ProjectLibre as well.

Can please send the files that have import issues to either lchretienneau@projectlibre.org or mobrien@projectlibre.org? We'll do our best to fix the problems. A beta3 will be released soon with the fixes.
    Thanks for you help.

Thanks for the feedback. We received a project file with issues and the fixes are being put in place with a release this weekend or early next week. We see some common problems that will be fixed. It would be most helpful if you can send us the project files so we can identify where they are having issues. The sooner the better as we want to nail this down.... you can strip out any proprietary data if you wish and replace with generic data..... This would be most helpful!!!

I'm afraid I can't send you the mpp as I can't strip out the sensitive data as I can't open the file because I can't send you the mpp as I can't strip out the...

I have tried this in Beta3 also and it's not working either. Apologies for not being able to help the community, keep up the good work though.

We are working on a preferences/settings view. We have gotten good feedback on different preferences to include. Did you use PROJECT/2 on the mainframe ? I worked for PSDI back in the old days :-)

  • Laurent Chretienneau

Which preferences would you like to change? There are some options in File,Task and Resource menus

Could you send your files at lchretienneau@projectlibre.org? We'll work on them and do our best to have them work for the next releases.

    Thanks.

Hi Team, great work. Not certain if I am doing something wrong but I am opening up a Microsoft Project (2010 Standard Ver 14.0.4760.1000 32 bit) file and appear to be getting confusing/cojoined columns in libreproject as per the two attached files.

I am using Project Libre 1.5.9 on windows 7 33 bit operating system. I opened project libre and created my first project, whilst in the first project call it "project1" for now, i opened another project, "project2" and copied from project1 to project2. I then saved both projects in the same folder on the hard drive. I then tried to open them the next day. Project1 was there and opened correctly, but project2 would not open at all. When exploring to the folder both projects were there, however project2 had no .pod extension to it. I tried to open the project again, but it would not open. I tried to put the .pod extension to it but it would not allow me, the error message says the "Could not find this item - This item is no longer located in........" double click on the file to open it and it opens up the window open with screen. Point it to the ProjectLibre.exe and nothing happens. On trying to delete the file, the error message says the "Could not find this item - This item is no longer located in........" Now not only have I lost all my work I have done and as a result my manager is really upset with me, I also have a file on my computer I cannot delete of the hard drive. This is really great for me seeing as I just started working at this company and the manager now thinks I am incompetent

Hi and thanks in advance for your help.

I'm having the same problem trying to open an MPP file and it just doesn't want to open it launches a progress bar and it never opens. I'm using JDK (java version "1.8.0_05", Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_05-b13) ), and the error it launches says:

    INFO: BEGIN: MicrosoftImporter.PrepareResources
Exception in thread "loadProject" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

among other things but it says somewhere there was a memory leak or it ran out of memory.

I have plenty of RAM so that's not the issue - my sensors indicate Java is using about 122 MB of memory. I don't know if it's too much to open a 425 KB file

The problem is a BUG in Office Project 2010, which is fixed when SP1 is applied. All your 2010 users need to be told to apply the service patch, otherwise saving a 2010 file to 2007 becomes a fruitless task, since even though they can open it, and even save the file, once opened again if appears as a BLANK file. Pass4sure 70-533 Dumps Surely Microsoft's priority should have been backwards compatibility? So, rather than looking at 2003 or 2007 for a fix, look to 2010!!! Pass4sure 70-494
