I use Progect to track tasks I have to do, so for
example in my system administration to-do list I might
install system a
install system b
configure system a
I set the type of all these items to 'progress', so
that I can see (a) how much of any individual task I
have completed, and (b) what percentage of my total
workload is done.
The problem is that if I complete the task "configure
system a", the item "configuration" reaches 100% as
well, and disappears from the display. If I now need to
add a "configure system b" task, I have to uncheck the
'Hide Done Tasks' option to make the completed item
visible again before adding a subtask to it.
If I leave 'Hide Done Tasks' unchecked, then my tree
soon becomes unreadable, full of completed tasks.
I'd like there to be a different type of 'progress'
task which behaves like a progress task in all
respects, _except_ that it isn't removed from the
display when it reaches 100%. In this way the
'skeleton' of my to-do list would be permanently
visible, but individual 'leaf' tasks would disappear in
the usual way once they were completed.
