Hi folks! I discovered a bug on Microsoft Internet Explorer (only tested on=20 ipv6 not NAT), which results on a 'badly formatted EPRT argument'. This happens because IE does not send the final terminator on the=20 EPRT argument as stated on sec. 2 of RFC2428: "(...) =20 EPRT<space><d><net-prt><d><net-addr><d><tcp-port><d> " An example is of IE's conversation is: USER anonymous PASS (hidden) OPTS utf8 on SYST SITE help PWD NOOP CWD / TYPE A EPRT |2|2001:690:1ffe:6666::10|1038 at this time the following proftpd error: badly formatted EPRT argument: '|2|2001:690:1ffe:6666::10|1038' This was tested on the same client use MS command-line ftp and it=20 behaved as expected sending the EPRT command as: EPRT |2|2001:690:1ffe:6666::10|1044| Tested with the latest IE available at the moment: Version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 Updates: SP1; Q822925; Q330994; Q820223; Q828750; Q824145; Q832894 Hope this helps someone while waiting for IE's bugfix... TJ, Thanks for the quick response yesterday! The apparent reason for the error [that were Killing Me ;-)] were: 1. The user's home directory had to correspond to the directory in proftpd.conf file. 2. Setting the absolute path in proftpd.conf and removing the tilde (~) allowed the user to authenticate to their directories. 3. Setting the appropriate permissions and ownership on the directory. The suggestions you made were right on target and running proftpd in debugging mode (proftpd -nd6) provided a lot of useful information. The ftp server is up and running and the test users were able to authenticate. The <Limit> directives were also enforced correctly. Now I will move on to figuring out how to allow password user's to change between multiple incongruent directories. Thanks again! And I look forward to the day when I can give good suggestion as you did here. -Dwight -----Original Message----- From: proftp-user-admin@... It looks like your use of the tilde in your <Directory> sections may not be resulting in the paths you expect. it's a part of the "libz" string. You must, know, that libz.a is the Z lib compression library. The string "-lz" is: "-" + "l"ib + "z" where the "z" are the remaining characters after "lib". Hello, I have configured max clients allowed to be 5 with Proftpd for testing purpose. I found that when I initiated the sixth active connection Proftpd very rightly did not allow that connection. But out here I need to display a message to the user that due to maximum limit is reached the connection initiated is dropped. The message displayed is "Connection closed by remote host." Please can you all help me with this. I am sure Proftpd will have something for this too but cannot get in documents I have. Thanks and Regards Kiran L. Dhawan |

hi, forehead I fixed it. the diff as below: # diff mod_quotatab_sql.c.fixed mod_quotatab_sql.c 398,400c398,400 < snprintf(tally_files_in, 20, "%d", quotatab_deltas.files_in_delta); < snprintf(tally_files_out, 20, "%d", quotatab_deltas.files_out_delta); < snprintf(tally_files_xfer, 20, "%d", quotatab_deltas.files_xfer_delta); --- > snprintf(tally_files_in, 20, "%u", quotatab_deltas.files_in_delta); > snprintf(tally_files_out, 20, "%u", quotatab_deltas.files_out_delta); > snprintf(tally_files_xfer, 20, "%u", quotatab_deltas.files_xfer_delta); the quotatab_deltas.files_in_delta may have '-' , so just use %d but not %u and now in mysql log , there is " files_in_used = files_in_used + -1 ", works well. == forehead wrote on 2004-02-05 15:40:00 > >hi, proftp-user > >as subject, when I del a file from ftp interface, the %{3} return 4294967295 >which should be -1 > >I am Under FreeBSD and enable proftpd 1.29 and proftpd-mod-quotatab-1.2.11 > >the proftpd.conf contains: > >SQLNamedQuery get-quota-limit SELECT "name, quota_type, per_session, limit_type, bytes_in_avail, \ > bytes_out_avail, bytes_xfer_avail, files_in_avail, files_out_avail, files_xfer_avail FROM quotalimits \ > WHERE name = '%{0}' AND quota_type = '%{1}'" >SQLNamedQuery get-quota-tally SELECT "name, quota_type, bytes_in_used, bytes_out_used, \ > bytes_xfer_used, files_in_used, files_out_used, files_xfer_used FROM quotatallies \ > WHERE name = '%{0}' AND quota_type = '%{1}'" >SQLNamedQuery update-quota-tally UPDATE "bytes_in_used = bytes_in_used + %{0}, \ > bytes_out_used = bytes_out_used + %{1}, bytes_xfer_used = bytes_xfer_used + %{2}, \ > files_in_used = files_in_used + %{3}, files_out_used = files_out_used + %{4}, \ > files_xfer_used = files_xfer_used + %{5} \ > WHERE name = '%{6}' AND quota_type = '%{7}'" quotatallies >SQLNamedQuery insert-quota-tally INSERT "%{0}, %{1}, %{2}, %{3}, %{4}, %{5}, %{6}, %{7}" quotatallies > > >and in the mysql log file ,i got: > >040205 15:40:51 22 Query UPDATE quotatallies SET bytes_in_used = bytes_in_used + -6366.000000, bytes_out_used = bytes_out_used + 0.000000, bytes_xfer_used = bytes_xfer_used + 0.000000, files_in_used = files_in_used + 4294967295, files_out_used = files_out_used + 0, files_xfer_used = files_xfer_used + 0 WHERE name = 'bingo' AND quota_type = 'user' > >it showed that the file quota is wrong. any idea? > > > > > > > >---------------------- >forehead (Chun Sheng) >forehead@... >2004-02-05 > > > >------------------------------------------------------- >The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 >Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration >See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
