I'd like to see this project in the the Ubuntu Software Repositories:
How tough would that be?
procexp would need to comply to ubuntu packaging rules, see http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/ and possibly find a package maintainer.
I ( The author of the Linux Process Explorer) like that, but I need a volunteer to do that, as I want to concentrate on improvement of the process explorer, as available time is quite limited.
I second this request. We should look for someone with experience packaging for ubuntu as my time is precious too alas and I would have a lot to learn to do it. This should be packaged in the repostories and stands a solid chance of being part of standard distros in time.
I would recommend moving to GitHub though as community projects flourish there with greater ease because of the way git works as opposed to svn/cvs.
I'd love to see this with some more features over time. Color for example on the process list, better width scaling on columns, sortable on column headers (as with it's Windows namesake) and a filter even (much like htop, which has that lovely feature).
Looks like code not tocuhed since 2014 and no comments here since 2012, which suggest a move to GitHub and promotion fo community contribs would serve it well.
I have clone the project in GitHub, https://github.com/PhoneixS/procexp so it's easier to see and change de code.
