I have set up the team dashboard, and saved a WBS. In my individual dashboard I have joined the team project. When I try to sync the WBS from the team dashboard to the individual dashboard it doesnt send the WBS. I have the WBS saved on a shared drive and I am fairly certian that I have correctly connected to the team dashboard through my individual dashboard. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!

in your personal dashboard, when you perform a "Sync to WBS," it finds the tasks in the team WBS that are assigned to you, and copies them down to your personal plan. If no tasks are assigned to you, there is nothing to be copied down.
So your personal dashboard contains your personal list of tasks. If you need to view the entire team plan (for example, if you are the Planning Manager), you use the Team Dashboard to view the rolled up plan.
If tasks HAVE been assigned to you in the team WBS, but those tasks are not being copied down into your personal plan, then your initials in the WBS team member list probably don't match the initials you typed when you joined the project. Take a look at this help topic:
Our team has 5 members and all are having the same problem. Each team member has items in the WBS that are assigned to them, and their initials are correct. When I originally synced to the team dashboard I got a message that stated something like, misc items have been synced, but nothing changed in my task and shedule. Now when I try and sync, it says that nothing has changed. I get the feeling that our individual dashboards arent finding the file with the WBS, is this possible?
Thank you!

The sync operation looks out on the shared network drive to find WBS data. If the files were completely missing, the sync operation would print a message to this effect - stating that it 'attempted to locate the team WBS, but that file XYZ could not be found.'
Since the sync operation is not printing an error, it must be finding *some* WBS data. Most likely, it's the wrong WBS - an empty one. My suspicion is that your team might have accidentally created two team projects in the team dashboard at different points in time. Now perhaps all of the team members are joined to one of those projects, while all of the WBS data is associated with the other team project. (This could be possible even if one of the team projects has since been deleted from the team dashboard.)
It should be fairly straightforward to fix the problem. Just send an email message directly to me (tuma at users dot sourceforge dot net) and I would be glad to help!

I'm running into the same issue that has been described here. From the individual dashboard, I can see the WBS that contains tasks for me, but they do not show up in my Hierarchy or in the Task and Schedule windows. I've tried to create a brand new team project directory and created a fresh project to ensure that I don't have old/obsolete project info in the database. This doesn't help.
I'm sure that I'm missing something simple. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Scott

From your message, I understand that you're choosing "Work Breakdown Structure Editor" from your personal dashboard, and it's opening the correct WBS that contains tasks for you. If that is incorrect, please let me know.
The first step I would recommend is to choose "Project Parameters and Settings" from your personal dashboard. On that settings page, take a look at the field containing your initials. Do those initials match the initials that are being used for you in the WBS? If not, edit them here on this Parameters and Settings page. Then try syncing again.
If the initials are correct, I would recommend opening the WBS and taking a look at the Milestones list. If your team is using milestones, and if they have checked the "Defer Sync" box next to one or more milestones, then the tasks associated with those milestones won't get synced into your personal dashboard. You'll need to uncheck the "Defer Sync" checkbox and save the WBS.
If these steps don't resolve the problem, please contact me directly (tuma at users.sourceforge.net) and I can help you directly.
