Probably riddled with bugs I haven't spotted, but what isn't?
Still, the six hours of toil were worth it, even though I will be dead tomorrow.
So, check out Lan 0.9.43.223, the first version of the asset management system that could feasibly used to manage assets! What a wonderful day. Break out the champagne.
Oh, God, I need to sleep.
It's been too long, SourceForge! Too long since I've posted or updated everything. I've been busy. Busy doing what exactly? Well, I was in the British Informatics Olympiad final for one. The proof of this is here: http://olympiad.org.uk/2010/index.html (because apparently some people on the Internet lie, and that list offers pretty firm proof that I'm not one of them). That kept me busy for a while.... read more
I know, I was surprised as well! I've lovingly prepared a brand new version of lib-tgz (formerly known as TGZ Library - I felt like giving it a more unix-y name), which now contains all functionality in a class, where it should be - a TTarFile (gz still not implemented, that's quite far away still). I also fixed a pretty epic fail with the file dates, so now they don't randomly change by 20 years. Turns out FileAge returns a FileTime, not a TDateTime... Heh heh.... read more
I'm not entirely settled with any database format, as the old one is restrictive and ridiculously wasteful, and the new one relies on an external executable doing all the heavy lifting. For this reason, I thought I'd have a go at writing some code that would allow me to support .tar archives and .gz files, so that in combination, I could have my database saved into a .tar.gz format, relying on no external compressor or decompressor to do anything, meaning my executable can be distributed entirely on its own. Yay!
Yes, that's right, this, my GCSE project, recieved full marks after being marked by the senior examiner!
I know it was marked by the senior examiner, as he uses my school's coursework to train other examiners, as our school's work is consistently awesome, although most don't manage to get 100 out of 100!
Now that the epic saga of Probation 09 has come to a close, it is being marked as a piece of GCSE coursework as we speak. To celebrate this, I thought I would upload the source and executable of the final version of Probation 09. What, you ask, is next? Well, I've changed this project's name to Probation x, as I don't know whether the next version to be released will be in the year 2010 or 2011 (or even 2012!), but work is still ongoing, just deep underground... For now.... read more
