Could you consider creating a term for 'thyroid stimulating hormone', TSH.
Consisting of:
alpha subunit (PR:000005388; the alpha subunit is common to a number of hormones)
beta subunit (PR:000016724; unique to TSH)

Thanks,
Becky

Needed to create XPs for the TSH receptor in GO.

Here is the term you requested. We defined TSH based on composition and not activity since the subunits are found in organisms that lack thyroid glands. We also could not confirm that every possible post-translational modification that occurs in say, humans, also occurs for non-mammalian organisms. For this reason we used the most general component terms possible.

    [Term]
    id: PR:000028269
    name: thyroid stimulating hormone
def: "A protein complex that is a heterodimer of an alpha subunit (CGA) common to several glycoprotein hormones and a beta subunit (TSHB) unique to thyroid stimulating hormone." [PRO:MSY]
    comment: Category=complex. Requested by=GO.
    synonym: "TSH" EXACT []
    synonym: "thyrotropin" EXACT []
    is_a: GO:0043234 ! protein complex
    relationship: has_component PR:000005388 {cardinality="1"} ! glycoprotein hormones alpha chain
    relationship: has_component PR:000016724 {cardinality="1"} ! thyrotropin subunit beta

great- thank you! I've created our cross-product for TSH receptor activity.
