Sorry for top posting, the most foolproof and user friendly interface is MINT 11, imho. Even my dad likes it. If he doesn't have a decent download connection,I can mail him the DVD This is a standalone PC right? Otherwise you would have fixed it via remote session? Tell your dad to backup his files to a usb stick/drve. A clean installation is probably the best.. Otherwise. If he's close to me, sure, centurion, I could probably go.
