Hi! Quasar just informed me that he fixed a race condition in the SDL sound code in Eternity. I briefly looked over his changes, at they seem to be valid and fit into our own code. Would be nice if someone could look into it. http://eternity.mancubus.net/svn/trunk/eternity @cph: this could be on of the reasons for the sound stuttering you got @Neil: this could be related to your sound problems which you had on Mac as well I'm occupied till the end of october, after that I plan to work on PrBoom again and do another release. But Jon might like to have a release before that to get it into debian. I think the trunk is stable right now, so we could cut a release next saturday. The hi- color changes won't make it into that release though, there is still some cleanup to do in that branch. Mostly menu and config work. Regards, Florian Schulze |

Indeed, if you want a more recent release to be included in Etch, next weekend might be the best time - any later and there's a chance it wouldn't migrate before the general freeze begins. > I think the trunk is stable right now, so we could cut a > release next saturday. I'll take a look at SVN HEAD this week to get a head-start on any potential packaging issues, and I'll work on documenting -vidmode at least to some degree :) --=20 Jon Dowland |

This way there will be some more fixes in it. The next release might again take as long as this one. Regards, Florian Schulze |
