Hello! Is there any people who can create port of pptp to Syllable? Now we have only unofficial port of pppd (to providing support of PPPoE). Syllable users want more network advantage, but we haven't free developers who can do it. www.syllable.org |

G'day, PPTP Client 1.3.1 has been released. This is a maintenance (bug fix) release to fix the inability to start multiple tunnels. Thanks to Chris Wilson for finding and fixing the problem. This release has not been through the same qualification test procedure as 1.3.0, but as the change is minimal and easily audited, I consider it suitable for immediate release. G'day, I've reviewed Frank Cusack's excellent defect removal work on CCP for MPPE recently committed to CVS, and I feel it is time for us to give it a try in the PPTP client project. I'm running it now, and it appears to be working fine, but I'd like some other people to give it a try. It's got a version identifier of 2.4.2b3 and date of 8 April 2003. To be consistent with my previous release, I'm labelling it 2.4.2_cvs_20030428. http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/ppp-2.4.2_cvs_20030428-1.i386.rpm http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/ppp-2.4.2_cvs_20030428-1.src.rpm http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/ppp-2.4.2_cvs_20030428.tar.gz (Also mirrored on http://quozl.linux.org.au/pptp/) The RPM was built on an older GLIBC system, which may alleviate the difficulties experienced by others with the 20021120 release. Note: if you are using ppp-mppe-2.4.0 or another PPP derived from the OpenSSL licensed MPPE code, you will have to also upgrade your kernel module. I'm really looking for people who have already been using the ppp-2.4.2_cvs_20021120 RPMs or sources. Changes that I noticed from a review against 20021120 ... - preventing file descriptors from leaking to connect or pty scripts, - some kernel debugging changes, - disabling of ms-lanman option at build time, - MPPE options can be set by plugins (e.g. radius), - documentation of password and unit options. Please send test reports to me or the list. --=20 James Cameron (jam...@hp...) http://quozl.linux.org.au/ (or) http://quozl.netrek.org/ |

Announcing rpm packages of the PPTP Client graphical user interface that will duplicate the functions of pptp-command. Features are; - configuration, starting, stopping, catching debug output from pppd, - yet to handle routing, though user interface is in place, - yet to handle resolv.conf changes. What I need from others; - does it work for you, - any design issues with the UI style, - any pixmaps of neat buttons I should use, - any functional points you think it should do that are not in TODO, - any defects in the code that aren't in the TODO. Screen shots, rpms, source code, from; - <http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/php-gtk/> or - <http://quozl.linux.org.au/pptp/php-gtk/> Installation; - install a pptp-linux 1.2.0 release candidate, <http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/> - install the ppp 2.4.2 pre-release rpm, <http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/ppp-2.4.2_cvs_20021120-1.i386.rpm> - ensure you are using the GPL-compatible MPPE kernel support, - install the pptp-php-gtk rpm, - be satisfied with your configuration backups, - run "pptpconfig" as root, and a window should appear, - enter tunnel details, click on add, - select the tunnel and click on start, check the output for problems. -- James Cameron (jam...@hp...) http://quozl.linux.org.au/ (or) http://quozl.netrek.org/ |

G'day, Release candidate 2 of PPTP Client 1.2.0 is available for testing by the development team. Packages have been built for Debian and Red Hat on Intel. http://quozl.netrek.org/pptp/ http://quozl.linux.org.au/pptp/ ChangeLog - adopt man page contributed by Thomas Quinot. - close stderr to prevent holding open ssh sessions. - minor hint added in case of EIO on read() of pty. - support synchronous HDLC ppp encoding. Synchronous mode results in an important improvement of the CPU efficiency. - handle out-of-order packets arriving on the GRE socket by buffering. - bind GRE socket early to prevent ICMP Unreachable response by client. Could I please have test reports ... which file you used, what operating system distribution and version you used, and if you know it the version of the PPTP server involved. -- James Cameron (jam...@hp...) http://quozl.linux.org.au/ (or) http://quozl.netrek.org/ |
