I agree. I didn't get the original mail, but checked archives. According to https://software.opensuse.org/package/pptp openSUSE Leap 15.1 packaged pptp 1.8.0, and pptp 1.10.0 can be found in openSUSE Tumbleweed. According to https://software.opensuse.org/package/iproute2 openSUSE Leap 15.1 packaged iproute2 4.12, so is probably vulnerable to the bug that was fixed by 7d9a428. You can either downgrade iproute2, upgrade pptp, or patch pptp with 7d9a428. openSUSE is lagging a bit; * 7d9a428 was made in 2017-12-03, * pptp 1.10.0 was released in 2018-01-18, and; * openSUSE Leap 15.1 was released 2019-05-22, To get this fixed for future openSUSE please report the bug to openSUSE Project.
